Brandon in Boston

Today, June 30th, 2014, Brandon Davis turned 24.  Saturday, the 28th, he went to Boston, Massachusetts for the first time.

The day started early, 5:35 am to be exact. We boarded the Amtrak in Portland, ME and in less than 3 hours we were in Boston Common taking in the amazing views and soaking in the gorgeous weather while planning our route through Beantown.  Once we decided on some landmarks as targets we promptly took off in the wrong direction.  Luckily for us we found ourselves in the theater district where there was some pretty nice shopping (USA Soccer gear) and a Ritz Carlton where we stopped in for some professional help with directions.  From there we quickly discarded our new streamlined route to the desired destinations and blazed our own trail winding through every ally, farmers market, city park, and church we could find.  Not to mention grabbing drinks in the various pubs (too many to name) to chat up the locals and catch the World Cup action.

All said and done, when I mapped our many footsteps on the Map My Run app, we seemed to have traveled somewhere between 10 and 11 miles.  What a day!!

Here are some shots from the day.
